It's time for again for Mel's weekly Show and Tell. Last night I went to a Zum.ba class at the YMCA. As part of the class, we do among other things, some bellydancing which is a lot of fun. If you have not tried Zum.ba or bellydancing, you should definitely try it out.
My Zum.ba instructor has a policy that if you attend her class 3 times in a row, you get a free bellydance scarf. Here is a picture of the scarf I received from her. It's burgundy in color and has some silver coins and beads. When you shake your hips, the beads and coins move and clink, makes you feel kinda exotic and sexy.
Unfortunately, I am still working on shaking my hips and shimmying like a bellydancer, not quite as sexy or exotic as I'd like. I definitely need a lot more practice!
Now go check out what the rest of the class is showing. Then come join us and do some showing and telling of your own!
That's a great gift !
ReplyDeleteI love zumba, it makes feel more confident about my body and I feel like a kid playing.
How much FUN is that! Ok, so you have motivated me to give Zumba a whirl. Who couldn't resist a littl hip shaking in that adorable wrap :) I'm so happy that you have this class as an outlet to enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for the Lemonade award...so sweet of you :) It's my first blogger award! Gonna share it with some others very soon and pass a little love on to another.
Hugs to you and have a GREAT rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteI have a friend who does Zumba and she loves it! I think that is so cool what your instructor does- what a lovely scarf. It must make all the difference when you move.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that looks like fun! And sexy, haha!! I like your instructor's policy. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scarf! And what a great motivator to get you to keep coming backl
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic scarf. I hope you're going to post a video once you've had a bit more practice. ;)
ReplyDeleteHere on the IComLeavWe. Nice scarf! I tried Zumba once but the instructor moved so fast I could barely keep up. I looked like a teenage boy with two left feet. I'll probably try it again though
ReplyDeleteNice scarf!
ReplyDeleteGood incentive to practice! The scarf is so cool I'd wear it even if I couldn't get my hips to shake seductively.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to give Zumba a try. It sounds like loads of fun. Your teacher giving out such beautiful scraves is so cool.

That is awesome! I've never tried Zumba but I hear everyone talk about it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that scarf! What a wonderful incentive to get people to attend classes regularly.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try Zumba! I'll have to get the DVD.
ReplyDeleteI've been teaching bellydancing since 2002 and hip scarves are great motivators!!! Enjoy!

Beautiful scarf!! I bought one after taking bellydance classes in my early 20s. I'd love to get back to it. Enjoy it and have fun, even if you think it's not the way "it should be". ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great gift! I've never tried Zumba but it sounds like so much fun...so freeing. Love the scarf!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, too!
Very pretty. Does your hubby just love that his wife is doing this? I know mine would.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Zum.ba! And am so jealous that you get a pretty scarf in your class--I want one!!
ReplyDeleteAHHH I just bought on of these last night & I am in love!! I was wearing it around the house & shaking it like a crazy lady...Needless to say my hubby was happy too haha I am also in love with ZUMBA! I'm going to my 3rd class this week because I'm just in love with it <3
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, ya'll. Wow! I wasn't expecting such a huge response to my bellydance scarf. It is a lot of fun though. I wasn't even sure if I should post it for my show and tell. But looks like it was a winner! OK, Off to my Zumba class again tonight! I'm shaking... and I'm shimmying... =)
ReplyDeletewhat a gift ! I love it. Enjoy your class :D
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! I have a former co-worker who used to teach Zumba part time, but eventually left our company to teach it full time. And she's in incredible shape, so it must be an awesome workout. I meant to try it before, but never did. Maybe I will eventually!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a great scarf. It's something of the child in me that loves swishy-dangly things, almost an echo of the old twirly skirts I loved as a youngster.
