This weekend, I am attending the Holy Spirit Conference, an annual conference on the Holy Spirit organized by the Lutheran Renewal. It runs all day (starting last night) with main sessions and workshops, and runs through Saturday night. If you are interested in this, you can actually watch the main sessions live here. (click on "for conference details" to view detailed info on speakers and times).
During our praise and worship session this morning (which by the way is AWESOME!), we sang the song "Still" by Hillsongs. That song has always had a special place in my heart, especially during my TTC journey. But this morning, when we sang this, I was especially touched by it. I couldn't help but sing it with tears running down my face.
It is another reminder to myself....... "I will be still and know you are God."
Here are the lyrics to the song.
Still
Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand
When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God
Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust
Thank you for that beautiful song. Your story brought tears to my eyes! TTC since 2004? I know you are beyond ready for your blessing, and I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about your recent IVF. :( I am now following your blog in hopes that someday SOON you will announce you are pregnant. God is good. I know you know that. I can sense your faith through your blog. Just keep your faith strong. I have a child, but am experiencing secondary infertility. I know it's different, but I know the pain you are feeling.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the luck in the world. God bless!

I love that song. And many, many, MANY times do I find myself singing a song (and not well, I add) with tears streaming down my face!!!! It just shows how deeply you've been moved!

One of my favorite praise and worship songs. I too find I can't sing it without tears. It's so hard for me sometimes to just "be still and know." But truly, that is all we have to do. Thinking of you today and praying for you in your journey.
ReplyDeleteLove that song over in this part of the globe. Simple song with powerful words. As you've heard, many of us have been moved to tears just realizing how we need to remain still, quiet & confident in Him. Only in Him...
